I would like to see more on line classes in MHCR. I also think it would really be a plus if they had the entire class and the testing on line.

Some online instructors need to learn to communicate weekly with students. Some never communicate at all, even after an e-mail, they reply like 4 days later….?
Also, just because someone is taking an online course does not mean they have more time to spend on the computer than the in class session..some instructors exaggerate the amount of assignments and quizzes online online…2 quizzes and 2 assignments a week….THERE ARE OTHER COURSES TO TAKE AS WELL NOT JUST ONE…TEXTS TO READ…NOT JUST ONE TEXT BOOK?!?!?!!?!?

I agree with what you say Kat…but the state rules dictate some mandated ratio of work vs. time in class because they aren’t spoon feeding you with the material…LOL
I really agree with the email problems … There should be a policy set out in the syllabus and adhered to. Email is sometimes is the only link with your instructor, and if they don’t respond in a timely fashion, you may as well just buy the textbook and not take the course…LOL
The way some of these instructors respond, you may as well have an instructor in India. I brought up the subject and was told, “Well you don’t realize how many emails we get”. I then responded that “Well, there must be a communication problem.”

I must have lucked out. This was my first quarter back in school since 1995. I took three classes and found my instructors to be really helpful, and they replied immediatley 97% of the time. I prefer online classes especially during these cold winter months. I do wish that more MHCR classes were offered online

I took 3 quarters of online classes and fall quarter I took classes on campus for the first time in a long time and at CSCC. I quickly realized how much I missed out on a lot of important things. Take classes on campus you get so much more out of being on campus you really do!!!

Also, they give you a lot more homework and tests and quizes than if you were in the classroom. It’s the law, I strongly feel that campus classes are much better than online unless you absolutely need to take an online class but you learn so much more from being in the classroom, you learn from others and you really miss out on learning with your class mates and such!!!
