I'll add one more thing that determines what kind of grade you get.....whether or not it's a prerequisite for another class. If it is, you know you gotta at least pass with a C, but if it's something like a Business Management degree ur going after and you don't give a flying leap about Science - don't need it, don't like it, will never use it - and it's not a pre-requisite for anything else in your degree program, you can slide through with a low D and still pass. And who would really care? The knowledge that you would gain with a better grade will have absolutely no value to you for anything in your future. And I personally think it's ridiculous that we should even have to have a history and a science in a degree program that has nothing to do with history and science.

I agree with you that whether you are interested in a certain class or not you are here for the long haul. That is to get a degree, so there are classes in which you have no interest what so ever, but you need that credit to get a degree, and, if you are like me, you are paying for these classes. I feel as though I need to pay attention, work as hard as I can, and do everything I can to get the best grade possible because I I don't want to have to pay for that class again as well as not wanting to be here any longer than I have to be. I don't understand the people that I have had some classes that people say they don't care when the class begins to get harder? Well, then why are you here? You think it is going to be easy to get a degree? I don't think so. I am here for one thing and that is my career, so why wouldn't you do the best you can so that you are as educated as possible when it is time to start that career?

Hi, sorry for the delay! We went to Lynd's Fruit Farm for apple picking, and they did have a pumpkin patch available if you wanted to consolidate trips. They also had a corn maze and a very busy store selling tons of apple accessories (caramel, cider, etc). Here's the link: http://lyndfruitfarm.com/main/.

For a pumpkin patch with a zip line, try Leeds Farm: http://www.leedsfarm.com/ . We haven't actually been yet, but it was highly recommended.

I to am concerned about the H1N1 as I also have children, and although I was tempted to get the vaccine I did some research. They don't know what if any side effects the vaccine will have, they "expect" them to be similar to the regular flu vaccine, and if you have side effects you have to report them so they are aware of what they are. Also with the flu vaccine they administer inactive flu into the body, with the H1N1 they only weaken the virus. One of my children has a very low immune system and now I am terrified. If I don't get the vaccine they could get the H1N1 and who knows what would happen, and then if I get the vaccine, who knows what will happen, do I want to use my children as test animals?Did you know that they will not know the exact numbers of deaths from the H1N1? It says on their website that adult deaths from the H1N1 do NOT have to be reported and that pediactric deaths are SUPPOSED to be. Which means people could be dying by the hundreds and noone has to know.I am scared for my children.

we here root for the underground because we are from ohio, who has an underdog (or perhaps insecure) mentality. we are raised to believe we are the swing state and the in between. we are not the grittiness of NY nor the glamour of LA. we are just here cowtowns in cornfields. how truth this is or not true does not matter but the fact that we live it says a lot.

Not everyone has the luxury of taking time off work during a recession.

If I don't work than I don't get paid. That makes it even harder to afford a doctor visit.

I was very uncomfortable with the idea of the vaccine being rushed into production. That is until my 13 year old son got sick, thank god it wasnt the H1N1 flu, and I had to take him to the doctor. After learning that the vaccine was made in the same factories as the seasonal flu, made with the same componets as the regular flu shot, and the only difference was the antibody strain, I have began to rethink whether or not I will get the vaccine for my children. Our school district has seen the H1N1 flu and has been very proactive, but I still worry about what will happen if parents ignore the flu signs and send their kids to school when they are very contagious. I know it's hard to miss work but we have to be vigilant about keeping our kids safe and healthy.
